An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Programme Finance Officer to join our team and perform various programme financial and administration support, grants and contract management/reporting and information management support to maximise the Uganda Country Office programme operations.
Reporting into the Finance & Support Service Manager (FSSM) you will be responsible for providing support to the Country Office programme budget preparation and donor reports. You will support the country FSSM in performing regular partner financial visits which will require you to process finance documentation, budget/forecasts questions and ensure proper spending as per approved agreements. You will work closely with partners and programme officers to ensure partner financial reports are received and be responsible for filing them in an orderly fashion. This role will require you to review the incoming financial data where you will also be required to conduct regular spot checks.
The successful candidate will be required to react to funding request and produce financial reports to sub-grantees and partners whilst making sure consistent with approved budgets. You will review expenditure returns and make recommendations of approval of liquidations. The Programme Finance Officer will be required to conduct administrative duties such as processing expenditure returns onto CLAIMS system and preparing monthly financial reports. Other duties will be general administration tasks to support staff in processing claims/invoices to assist staff with travel funds to ensure they are well supported, this will require a good eye to ensure they are appropriately coded for processing.
The ideal candidate will have a degree in a relevant field such as Business Administration and have a minimum of 3 years working experience in an NGO setting. Ideally, you can demonstrate at least 2 years of working in a financial administration role with experience of project management including financial administration/budgeting with the ability to explore data and produce effective reports in a timely manner. Sound knowledge of Microsoft products including accountancy packages is essential as is the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders
