Under the Supervision of the Senior Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTD’s) Programme Manager, the Programme Officer will provide support for mHealth, NTD monitoring, surveillance, operations research activities across funded Sightsavers Nigeria Country programmes.
The post-holder will also support the implementation of routine surveys and assessments like treatment coverage surveys, impact assessment, Data Quality Assessment making use of standardized databases and tools, and will assist in the operational research to test new data tools.
Key responsibilities;
- To provide direct assistance on the use of the integrated NTD database, WHO supported information systems, and other global tools for the timely collection, management, analysis, and reporting of high quality data.
- Assist in providing capacity building, data collection, NTD mapping, data quality assessments, treatment coverage surveys, assessment of disease transmission and evaluation of NTD programme impact
- Help with operational research endeavours, documentation and evidence to guide innovative approaches to NTD programme interventions in collaboration with external partners and Sightsavers
- Assist in training and support (at any level) to NTD programs rolling out the MDA monitoring tool, always using Sightsavers’ best practices and working in conjunction with relevant partners
- Support the Senior NTD Manager and assist with Assist as needed on operational research to understand the best design and implementation strategies and when applicable
The ideal candidate will have a degree in public health, Epidemiology and Statistics, or other related field. Experience in monitoring and evaluation of health programmes and designing and programming of mHealth surveys and applications. A background in data analysis using Stata, SPSS, Epiinfo and other Statistical Packages will be an advantage, as will pervious use of raphic Information Systems (ArcGIS, QGIS).
