Sightsavers is excited to be recruiting for this interesting and involved positon that offers a great level of responsibility, as the post is relied upon to provide quality assurance on all financial and compliance aspects of donor funding being implemented by our overseas Country Offices.
Working within the central Planning, Performance and Reporting (PPR) team this role will primarily liaise with the Programme Management Units of our inclusive disability projects, with the aim to play a key part in reviewing Sightsavers projects.
The role will entail close work with overseas country offices and with colleagues whom oversee management reporting to ensure income and expenditure on projects is reflected in Sightsavers financial systems, as well as completing reviews of grants, contract related income and monitoring the usage of restricted funding. The role will also coordinate the development of budgets for large scale grants, ensure that maximum cost recovery is achieved and supporting the quarterly Programme Oversight report of allocated projects.
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate finance and accountancy experience, awareness of overseas development gained preferably through work in the INGO sector and an understanding of institutional donor contract management mainly within EC, USAID and DFID funding.
The successful applicant will also have experience of providing financial training to non-finance staff (although not essential), excellent numerical skills, strong attention to detail with an improvement mindset and a willingness to develop skills and knowledge.
