Sightsavers are happy to offer an excellent opportunity to join our Uganda country office to enhance the quality of our inclusive education programmes and to ensure that all programmes and projects are planned, implemented, monitored and evaluated to the highest standards possible..
Working with Sightsavers partners the post holder will identify organisations with whom we can work to achieve strategic objectives of ensuring people with disabilities have equal rights and opportunities, as well as building and supporting longer term relationships. Support to partners is given by disseminating information about Sightsavers work, promoting shared learning and collaboration, and identifying their technical and capacity building needs.
Contributing to the development of the inclusive education programme this position will represent the Ugandan country office in inclusive education networks and manage all aspects of the project cycle to ensure effective planning, implementation, monitoring, financial management and documentation is delivered for the project. Resource management and assisting project partners in the preparation of budgets and forecasting is vital, as is monitoring expenditure in liaison with the FSSM (Finance & Support Services Manager) and PM (Programme Manager).
The successful candidate will possess a tertiary qualification in education (Bachelors or above, or similar), will have knowledge of current issues/best practices of the local educational system, particularly relating to children with disabilities. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience implementing, designing and managing programmes for children with disabilities and in policy and advocacy work.
