Sitting within the NTD (Neglected Tropical Diseases) Finance team, the NTD Grant Finance Manager plays a key role in monitoring and managing the financial aspects of key grant funded projects and all related partner contracts – specifically a £41m grant for the elimination of blinding trachoma.
This role will involve close liaison with the NTD Implementation team and the Institutional Funding team which have overall responsibility of overseeing the day to day management of global NTD elimination grants and ensuring all financial requirements of the project are fully met. The role will involve international travel 2-3 times per year.
As part of your role you will be expected to define budget and reporting templates as well as undertaking crucial financial planning and monitoring activities. You will help manage and enhance a finance reporting portal which we use to manage partner budgets, outputs and expenditure reports. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including report writing, are essential as you will be working with a wide range of stakeholders.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate finance and accountancy experience and being a qualified or part-qualified accountant will be an advantage. The preferred candidate will have experience of institutional donor or large scale contract management, particularly DFID (UK AID) funding, and an awareness of overseas development context gained through working in the INGO sector.
The postholder will have excellent numerical and advanced Excel skills with a strong eye to detail with a willingness to follow issues through to resolution. You will be well organised and committed to continuous improvement seeking ways to improve processes and mitigate risk.
