With the support of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the Children's Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF), the ELMA Foundation (United Kingdom) and Virgin Unite, Sightsavers supports Benin in an Accelerated Trachoma Elimination Program. The objective of this new program is to fill some existing gaps and to help at least ten countries, including Benin, to eradicate trachoma.
Reporting to the Administrative Assistant, the incumbent will be expected to drive staff in the office as well as visiting Sightsavers staff, consultants and Partners when necessary and to ensure the maintenance and safety of all office vehicles at all time and to perform clerical duties in support of the efficient running of the office.
The role will also provide some administrative support, including assisting with seminars and meetings and general office duties. The post holder will also be responsible for vehicle maintenance, such as ensuring vehicles are regularly serviced, working with the Admin Assistant to advise when servicing is required and keeping maintenance records.
The ideal candidate will have a Basic Education Certificate (BECE) BEPC (or similar), Good driving background with substantial time in a similar role. A working knowledge of International NGOs will be an advantage, alongside good attention to detail and a good command of French/English is required.
