Sightsavers have an exciting opportunity for a Monitoring and Learning Officer to assist with the implementation of the DID programme’s monitoring, evidence, adaptation and learning strategy (MEAL strategy).

Reporting to the Monitoring and Learning Manager, this role will provide technical support to consortium partners, globally and in-country, to implement the DID programme’s MEAL strategy, ensuring that it compliments consortium partners existing MEAL approaches.

This role will involve:

  • ensuring learning from the implementation of the MEAL strategy is captured and supports its continual improvement
  • supporting consortium partners to run the DID programme’s oversight, adaptation and reporting process
  • contributing to the programme’s reporting responsibilities, especially the quality assurance and consolidation of the DID programme’s evidence to support reporting against the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and the programme logframe
  • supporting the Monitoring and Learning Manager to facilitate cross country learning between Kenya, Nigeria, Tanzania, Bangladesh, Jordan and Nepal

About You

The ideal candidate will be educated to at least Master’s degree level (or hold a degree in a relevant field such as monitoring and evaluation, public health, international development or statistics with equivalent work experience). You will be a problem-solver with effective time management, experience of planning, manipulating data and the ability to work well with stakeholders.

You have:

  • substantial experience of working within the international development sector role
  • a strong working knowledge of monitoring and evaluations
  • impressive written and communications skills
  • the ability to manage large, complex pieces of work and to provide key deliverables on time
  • an understanding of and commitment to equality of opportunity for people with disabilities
  • experience of the complexities of working across multiple countries and continents in an international development organisation
  • a willingness to travel up to 12 weeks per year on various trips globally
