Sightsavers has an exciting new role for an Advocacy and Communication Officer to take a lead in managing and implementing advocacy and communications activities that contribute to Sightsavers activities, including the Inclusion Works programme. The role involves coordinating with partners, government authorities, business bodies, media and other stakeholders in implementing advocacy initiatives and campaign related activities. It will also support relevant advocacy initiatives with other thematic areas while implementing Inclusion Works activities.

Under the guidance of the Programme Manager, the Advocacy and Communication Officer will work with the Bangladesh Country Office team, partners, DPOs, Consultants and Government agencies at local/ district and national levels. The Advocacy and Communication Officer is responsible for advocacy in the implementation of the social inclusion programme, which will require them to:
- Work closely with partners building and managing sustainable strategic relationships with policy makers, NGOs and media to create employment opportunities for disabled people.
- Initiate and participate in developing advocacy briefs, IEC materials. Ensure their appropriate use and dissemination to promote engagement for social inclusion.
- Ensure the quality of documentation and communication of advocacy work. Acting as a key resource for information and learning around advocacy for inclusion works of people with disabilities.
- Coordinate/ facilitate the work of researchers and evaluators
The ideal candidate will have:
- A Master’s degree in any discipline of social science, preferably connected with public policy/analysis.
- A track record of developing and strong relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders.
- Knowledge of key stakeholder including government policies and procedures related to disability, health and education.
- Experience in Project Cycle Management.
- Experience in research work and documentation.
