Sighsavers Malawi Country Office is keen to recruit a Programme Officer to enhance the quality of Education, Social Inclusion and Health projects and to ensure that these projects are implemented, monitoring and evaluated to the highest possible standards. In collaboration with colleagues and partners this role will also identify areas for programme growth and development.
As the Programme Officer you will identify partners to help achieve Sightsavers strategic priorities of the prevention of avoidable blindness and the social inclusion of people with visual impairment. By developing long term relationships with these partners you will support them in the identification of their own capacity building needs, promote shared learning and collaboration and ensure safeguarding issues are taken on board by partner organisations.
You will assist the Country Director and Programme Manager to compile quarterly and annual reports, be a technical lead at Country Office level, assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, monitor expenditure and ensure that partners manage and utilise project assests as per Sighsavers policies.
As the successful candidate you will have a degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field (Education, Social Sciences, Development studies, Public Health), you will have extensive similar working experience, ideally within an NGO, and have a background in all aspects of project management in community development programmes.
