A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Finance Manager to contribute to the effective and efficient financial management of the Sightsavers Bangladesh Country Office (BCO).

Contract: Two-year Fixed Term Contract
Reporting to the Finance and Support Services Manager (FSSM), the postholder will assist with the financial management and accounting of the BCO in accordance with the legal framework of Bangladesh as well as the policies and regulations of Sightsavers. This varied role will involve:
- Managing all books of records of the accounts department
- Effective financial management for partner organisations
- Budgeting, drafting reports and forecasts for the BCO
- Reviewing and managing procurement documentation
- Ensuring compliance with NGOAB and NBR
- Supporting the Finance and Support Service Manager in managing overall financial control of the Country Office.
The ideal candidate will have:
- A Master’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
- Extensive work experience in an NGO/ INGO in a similar role
- Project finance management and data analysis skills
- Excellent communication skills in Bangla and English (both oral and written).
- The ability to work with minimum supervision
- Strong IT skills – MS Excel, MS Word, accounting packages including SUN and Tally and email software such as Outlook.
- Understanding and experience of working with project budgets, forecasts and reports.
- Good knowledge of international accounting standards and principles as well as partnership management
- Experience and knowledge of partners financial monitoring
- Knowledge and experience working with NGOAB.
- Knowledge of Financial regulations and the financial law of the land.
- Ability to work as a team player and contribute to improve team performance.
We anticipate that interviews, including role-related assessments, will take place on 22 and 23 January 2020.
