Sightsavers has an exciting vacancy for a Technical Director for Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTD) to lead on the provision of technical expertise in NTD’s. The location of this role is flexible globally and offers a competitive salary.
The Technical Director will lead and manage a team of technical advisors working to the NTD team strategy ‘now is the time to say goodbye to NTD’s’. You will provide specific advice and expertise on integration and coordination of NTD’s at all country and project level.
The successful candidate will support the monitoring and evaluation of NTD projects and work to standard WHO protocols. You will ensure all findings are acted on at a project level and be accountable for recommendations for actions/improvements. You will work closely with contract management teams to provide the coordination of technical advice to grant funded projects. It’s imperative that you assess best practice on NTD’s and ensure this is cascaded within the organisation.
The ideal candidate will have a higher degree in public health or similar along with working knowledge in the field of one or more NTD’s. Strong project management skills are essential with the ability to maintain key relationships with key figures internally and externally. French and Portuguese language skills would be advantageous. This role requires you be involved in high levels of planning and organising on a management level with skills to influence change and improvements.
Strong communication skills both in writing and orally and ability to travel regularly in sometimes difficult locations are essential for this role.
