International development organisation, Sightsavers has a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Media & Ambassador Liaison Officer to join our team and be a key member of the communications team to help raise the profile of Sightsavers through excellent media and PR support, both in the UK and internationally.
Reporting to the Global Media Manager, your responsibilities will include media outreach, supporting fundraising activity, as well as managing a portfolio of celebrity supporters and ambassadors.
You will work within the media team to support the day to day running of the press office as well as monitor all media activities.
The successful candidate will have significant experience of developing and implementing proactive PR and editorial opportunities to raise the profile of the organisation and our work.
Significant experience working with media outlets is essential. This includes developing and pitching story ideas, responding to the news agenda and establishing and maintaining relationships with journalists and bloggers.
Experience of engaging celebrities in communications campaigns is also highly desirable. We’re looking for someone with strong people skills.
The ideal candidate will have excellent attention to detail and strong communication skills, including excellent writing and presentation skills.
Proven experience of project management is an advantage as you will be leading on communications projects. You will also have sound knowledge of Windows based applications and be proficient in multimedia content gathering and production.
